Strategic Communication

Strategic Communication is not merely using traditional media or social media to communicate your messages.

It must utilize good understanding of the current situation and a solid planning of what your objectives and messages are.

Knowing the right time to communicate our messages and the way to manage stakeholders depend on where our stakeholders are.

Culture and historical backgrounds, political climate, as well as social and economic interests will greatly influence our approach.

Understanding these factors and incorporating those in our communication strategies would positively impact the success in business and investments in Indonesia.

What's Happening?

Election has ended, what's next?

The 2019 Indonesian Presidential Election has come to an end, and the President in-office Joko Widodo is set to run for another term.

Emerson Asia Pacific will constantly monitor government policies in the next five years, as they will impact political stability and direction, economic conditions, socio-economic growth, technological growth, legal certainties, and environmental protections. We understand that these policies will directly affect the social livelihood and the outcome of your business, therefore Emerson Asia Pacific will continue to monitor and understand policies and reactions of stakeholders to best meet the desirable outcome for your business.

We all hope that in the next five years, stakeholder participation towards Indonesia’s economic growth can be utilized at its maximum considering that this period covers the only and biggest bonus demography in Indonesia that should be anticipated early. From that, our attention for the "millennials" being regarded as an important group of stakeholder in all institutions is vital. Millennials are inseparable from digital technology, and thus activities at all levels in every institution – be it state-owned or privately-owned, should implement digital technology. In line with this, usage of digital communication platforms and technology should also be spread.

Throughout the Presidential campaign, the millennial generation that will go through the peak of bonus demography in 2025 – 2030 voiced out several focal points that can address their main concerns, such as the government’s involvement and facilitation on employment, entrepreneurship, vocational training, ease of forming and developing new enterprises, legal certainty, fair taxes, strengthening of regulations for domestic developments in every sector, and special attention to socio-cultural and environmental matters. Therefore, institutions that are able to translate the wants and needs of the millennial generation will win their interest.

Emerson Asia Pacific continues to monitor and analyze policies and developments of situations and conditions that can greatly impact on business opportunities or threats that may halt the acceleration of economic and social developments.

Indonesia's Credit and Investment Climate

Indonesia is vigorous in its development. It is one of the biggest democratic countries in the world and has undisputed rich natural and human resources. Indonesia shows a positive increase in the working age demography, making it one of the most productive countries in the Southeast Asian region. This leads to an enormous amount of investments in Indonesia as evidently shown in the last decade, and will surely be the same for the next decade.

"The upgrade of Indonesia’s Long-Term Foreign- and Local-Currency Issuer Default Ratings by one notch to ‘BBB’ reflects a strengthening of the country’s resilience to external shocks as a result of successful policy implementation"
- Fitch Ratings, December 2017

"JCR has upgraded its ratings by one notch and changed the outlook to Stable. JCR has also upgraded its country ceiling for Indonesia by one notch to 'BBB+'"

"Indonesia is ranked no. 2 as The Best Country to Invest In in the world"

Based on the above facts, Indonesia's climate is proven stable and promising for investment. With these underlying factors and our expertise, we are driven to further contribute to the nation's development by providing strategic communication services to various institutions including governments, state-owned enterprises, multi-national companies, and even other consultant firms.
